Sorry, I missed today’s WLW. But i read on FT that the GBP crashed cos of Positioning data from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange showing increased bets against the GBP, this was the same sort of article they had about the EUR and its crashing. previous to this i must admit i had no idea about these data reports or anything about them. When and how would a regular doud like me find out about these sorts of data before they come out and what it says when they come out ? and is this a regualar thing ? and how comes they dont just show these figures for every currency and then everyone will follow suit and send all the currencies towards where we want ??? And do you think its possible to fake one of these reports and hire a security comany to transfer it to the news people as they read it on tv and corner the market like in the movie “Trading Places” ?
http://www.cmegroup.com is the website and they’ve got an entire section dedicated to FX, but I don’t see any ‘reports’. One might be able to make sense of the Options Expiration and Settlements though… hmmm…. wonderful food for thought there!!!
