I admit another bad mistake … I totally missed seeing the sell on the GBPJPY TL break on the 4HR. A real eye opener for me, cos I didn’t miss it, I saw it and thought, this is a standard TL break (maybe ofcourse I wouldn’t have traded it all the way down to no mans land but I certainly could have got some good pips) but what my mistake was that I convinced myself from all the talk around me that this pair was likely to break upwards and sentiment for risk was back. What I now say to myself is “shut up” i.e. I think to be a technical trader especially looking at the longer term picture, I can’t expect to process all that fundemental talk and make a prediction myself, better people than me are doing that and their opinion changes by the week so why am I better, I should have stuck to what I know and drill it down to basics cos thats all I know!!! GRRRR I’ll get you Penelope PoundYen if its the last thing I do !!!!
It is a tough to stick to your guns after a couple fakeouts. It seems so easy to trust your system in your backtesting, but then…when things are live and you just cannot bear another loss… it’s crushing to miss the one good trade that would’ve worked.
ARG!! Lesson learned……hopefully.
