Backtesting
Backtesting is the number one step to finding YOUR way to trade.
You can load historical data into your platform and move the screen forward, candle by candle, and test the setups that you like.
I backtested that way for YEARS and, as long as you mine your own data, it will work just fine.
I use Forex Tester now.
It is a software program that acts like a live trading platform, only it uses historical data. It has a mean learning curve, but is well worth the effort (in my opinion) as it saves a ton of time overall.
You can review the Forex Tester information at www.forextester.com
If you think you’re ready to buy, you can click here to buy it at a discounted price. This is my price, I have not raised it at all. Instead, I’ve passed the entire savings onto you. I don’t get anything from FXT for referring you. I’m simply telling you what I use.
If you’ve decided to buy it and you’ve already worked with Forex Tester to get it on your computer, you can use these videos to help you in the setup process:
Forex Tester Step One
Forex Tester Step Two
Forex Tester Step Three
Forex Tester Step Four
Here’s the Short List mentioned in the videos.
Here are some videos to help you use it for the first time:
Setting up the Charts
Loading Candles and Tools
Testing Options

Here’s a great way to mine the data!
Download the TurboTester Spreadsheet (can’t take credit for this one, Rob Booker created it and gave me permission to share it with you).
